This Field Guide helps you to think on your feet in the field:
Ensure that your rock core descriptions are clear, consistent, and concise. Follow common procedures for identifying natural fractures, calculating Total, Solid, and Modified Core Recovery and measuring Rock Quality Designation (RQD). Sharpen your observational skills for describing and characterizing rock core, stratigraphy and secondary rock weathering.
The back side of the chart includes a Fracture Characterization Guide for analyzing bedrock fractures from any size rock core. Help yourself to identify general rock types along with properly labelling the rock core box and placing the rock core.
